Spring Fling or "Leap"ing Romance?

So today is the actual Leap Day in this Leap Year of 2012!!!

So not only do we get an extra day in our year, if you didn't already know today is also 'supposedly' the only day that us dolls can propose to our Loved One (P.S - @danandkaty you two sooo better be right! LOL)

Are you going to pluck up the courage, fall to one knee and get engaged today (Is that how girls do it?)? Do you even believe in marriage?

These day's I think some people tend to forget that marriage has quite religious roots how many people can say that they are religious or even follow a religion with all of the crazy going ons in the world?  Well I don't know the numbers LOL but what I do know is that most of us love a good wedding to go to, therefore whether the wedding is your own or somebody else's...ENJOY it as romance is kind of dead these days!!!

So what's it gonna be?

Curvy Dolls Party Hard!!!

Size 0 is so last century! This post is dedicated to my curvy + tall dolls out there as from what you've been telling us, we understand it can be a hard combo type to shop for.

Real Life Dolls

Hey Dolls!

...I'm going to say that again... 

HEY DOLLS!

Doesn't that greeting just have a great ring to it?  So some of you are probably thinking I'm Crazy right? LOL!!  Well I'm not as Crazy as you may think I am as I promise, this is going somewhere good =)

So I've been reading my copy of Kardashian Konfidential and I totally only just realised that I have picked up the word "Doll" from them!  Thinking bout it I have been saying it for a while now and I cant believe that I didn't even realise it until now...but guess what I LOVE IT!

Every time I say it, it makes me feel so happy, excited and ready to socially mingle!  And when it's said to me....it just makes me feel so Girly, Glamorous & well just like a doll I suppose!

Almost everywhere you look these days, you will see some variation of us girls rocking the Barbie DOLL look! And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that...In fact, I say the more the better!

...Yes that's her...the beautiful, immaculate, stunning, original style icon, diva & almost EVERY girls dream!  Well I know I wanted to be Barbie at some point in my life & I remember the joy I'd get from playing with my Barbie's LoL!  Honestly the children of today are missing out.  And don't front and pretend you don't know what I am on about as I sure there was a time when you wanted to be Cher or Dionne from Clueless.

Well I think that regardless of AGE, we can all still be dolls because like Aaliyah once said "Age aint nothing but a number"! So lets celebrate to joy our dolls brought to us by ALWAYS remembering your beauty, dressing immaculately, experimenting with make-up, indulging in massages, manicures and pedicures, becoming that GIRLY GIRL and channelling your inner DOLL!

Whilst your at it, spread the positive dolly vibes to all your friends and family too by telling them that they are beautiful as you never know how important those words can be to somebody else too.

I'm not proposing we all become stepford wives or clones LoL! But you know what, life passes by so fast and people get so wrapped up in their own daily routines that they subconsciously neglect themselves or others around them so take a day or two out STRICTLY pamper as you will most definitely rejuvenate and you'll also feel like a million dollar too!

That's our message for this week.  So its COLD Season and its so easy to become that couch potato you vowed you would not be this year.  It's only the second month of the year and yes the bitter weather can cause us to snuggle onto the couch and not move until June appears.  But really.....it that going to help you to achieve your goals?

No, thought not.  All it will do is encourage excessive eating, spreading hips and unsightly arms that you will be trying to hide all summer from the camera happy person paparazzi who just happens to enjoy uploading pics to facebook. LOL

OK So I may have been a little bit extreme up there....but come on dolls, I bet 90% of us want to get fit, loose weight, tone up or stay toned up this year and it will not work if you use the weather as an excuse.  We all want to look our best for summer and I do not want you to have to hide behind baggy clothes, long sleeves and trousers in 4months time unless that's your goal of course.

RIP Etta James

Sadly, today the world has lost a much loved Soul Sister, Etta James (Jamesetta Hawkins).  Unfortunately Etta lost her battle with Leukaemia.  However, we are sure she has gone to a better place where she cane rest in peace.

Etta's hit song At Last was sung by Beyonce to President Obama!  If that alone does not show how great Etta is, nothing will.  She has achieved a lot of success in her life and she will not be forgotten.

dearLeopard is thinking of all you guys and dolls who are battling any sort of Illness, stay strong!

The Royal Leopard Showdown =)

So the beginning of this week was the Duchess of Cambridge's birthday, so we thought that we had to do something to celebrate Kate's Catherine's 30th Birthday!!

So we thought we'd find some lovely picture of the Royal's Rocking Leopard print.

Above we have on the left...Pippa Middleton's casual day out where she looks chic in a Leopard shirt and Jeans.  Then we have Kate in the middle and on the right.  Kate has Leoparized her dress with that gorgeous clutch and rock black and white in a STYLISH royal kind of way =)

Here is a pic of Queen Elizabeth II in a Leopard coat, probably watching the horse's haha, I bet that's something you didn't think you'd ever see...well we were surprised anyway.

But saying that, we're proud as punch because our Queen secretly has style LOL!  And it's so nice to see her smiling...no stiff upper lip here.

Welcome Baby Blue-Ivy!

Our QUEEN of R&B and KING of HipHop have given birth to their 1st baby yesterday 7th January 2012!

@dearLeopard want to Welcome Baby Blue-Ivy to the world!

Congratulations Beyonce and Shawn (Jay-Z) and their families on their new arrival.

We wish them all the best and hope you enjoy the pics of the beautiful Diva Beyonce perfectly modelling Leopard Print before and throughout her pregnancy.

P.s. be assured that we will be looking out for what Beyonce dresses Blue-Ivy in and we're sure Leopard Print will feature...fingers crossed!

Controversial - My Leopard Tattoo!

Well we think its controversial anyway!  You only have to scour the web for the publics opinion's on Leopard print tattoo's and you will find some for it and some against it.  Some people even have one or are wishing for one.

So we hear you ask, Where does dearLeopard stand on this controversy?

Well you know we love Leopard otherwise this blog absolutely would not exist!  But do you know what, we value our body a whole lot more.  Some may say having a Leopard print tat would add to that value, but for us......hmmmm we're WAY to scared of needles, injections, or anything that physically hurts LoL!

So some of you are probably saying "what hypocrites, claiming to be the biggest lovers of leopard and they are turning their back on a Leopard print tattoo"  Well in our defence, some people love certain foods in the way that we love leopard but they would not eat and eat and eat until they are physically sick because they know when ENOUGH is ENOUGH.

OK OK most people know when enough is enough but I'm sure you get our point?  So at this time dearLeopard do not advocate for Leopard tattoo's and that may have something to do with the pain from the process more than anything else but there it is.

However, don't get us wrong, if you have a leopard print tattoo or are getting one, GO You!!! And we'd love to see it!  But we'll be sticking to garments and accessories to demonstrate our leopard L.O.V.E!

Kickback Swag Day

Don't you just sometimes find yourself wanting a day where you just want to rock a certain look?  However when your no longer a kid and tend to dress a certain way which marks your own personal style and independence, you might find it hard to Kick that habit and have a more "R3LAX3D" day (without people looking at you like you've gone CRAY! CRAY! or like you've regressed into the child you once were LOL!

So we don't know about you, but we, not very often but often enough find ourselves yearning to wear "trainers, kicks, sneakers" or whatever you call them in your part of the world.  AND believe us, we are not the "trainers" type girls!!!  Actually, to share a secret with you all.... apart from my gym running shoes, personally I don't even own shoes like that!

Well anyway, we find that we tend to dress the way we feel, for example work clothes are different to weekend clothes which are different to P.A.R.T.Y clothes and we're sure it's the same for you?

dearLeopard's Vision Board 2012

Here it is dolls! 


This is our Very Important Vision Board for 2012!


It includes what we feel are POWERFUL images of what we want to achieve this year.


Most things are simple but we feel that we need to be reminded of them everyday in order to ensure that we complete the goals we have set ourselves, such as:

• Achieving fitness;
• Strengthening our faith;
• Eating healthily
• Spending time with loved ones
• Enjoying current friendships and making new friendships
• Travelling etc.....

So to keep these images firmly in our minds, we want to be able to see it every single day, therefore it will have a home somewhere over there --->

Exercise right in Leopard! =)

Glam out your workout with Equilibrium Activewear.  We have managed to hunt and find the above stylish sportswear which of course has the Lush Leopard print designs incorporated

With the new year already in swing, everybody knows that the majority of us have pledged to keep fit, loose weight, attend the gym and get healthier this year (like we didn't do the same thing last year).  But you know what, that's OK because this year we will keep our promise and hopefully you will too.

Equilibrium's activewear is odour, wind and water resistant & also offers the ultimate comfort with Lycra too.

We will tell you now, we cant wait to get into our gym clothes if they are going to look and behave so well.  All we need is an Ipod to listen to and a personal trainer treadmill to run on.  Tried and tested the personal trainer thing last year and we wont lie, he was really good but he very nearly killed us lol.  So it's our opinion that we should all go it alone this year and save that extra bit of money too lol.

In fact, talking about Ipod's, we want to customise ours with sparkly crystals and I suppose we could use that extra money we saved up there to do it.  I mean it would be nice to have it done complimentary but we'll settle for reasonably priced too because dearLeopard loves sparkly things!

So anyway, if we have not done anything else today, we hope we have inspired you to work out in style and stay working out in style this year as we know how hard that is to do!

We've also found some accessories to #Leoparize with too...a water bottle from Amazon, some Leopard sweatbands from SlashNBurn and a pink Leopard sports bra from DWDShoes.

Isn't that sports bra just to die with that lace at the back?

Well here's to staying fit and health in 2012, but most of all, to staying stylish!

Black & Gold from 2011 to 2012

So above is the outfit I wore at the end of 2011 and the beginning of 2012.  Yes it was my NYE 2011 outfit =)

I bought some new earrings to go with my cuff and multiple chain necklace I already had from around a year ago, so I was all glammed out and glistening in gold.

My dress was obviously black and my shoes were suede black with a leopard print wedge.  The belt on my dress is gold in the pic but I changed it to a thicker black belt with a coiled gold swirly pattern at the front.

My make-up was a simple smokey eye created with a medium brown eyeshadow and black eyeliner.  My lips were slightly shimmered with a Loreal gloss of which I will get the name for you later Glam Shine Golden Tattoo.  I also had body gems in the shape of a heart on the side of my face by my eye and my eyelashes were to die as they had crystal gems across the base of them.

My scent was GucciGuilty by Gucci - that's soooo nice!

I celebrated at a house party with family and friends until around 3am.  Then I left the after party at around 5.30am and here I am....tired as hell but happy and ready to take on 2012.
